Efficient garden irrigation
Efficient garden irrigation saves water, time, and money – and keeps your plants healthy. With a drip hose, you can supply beds and hedges with targeted, water-saving water. Hose connectors allow for easy system expansion, while hose anchors hold everything securely in place. For larger areas, lawn sprinklers or pop-up sprinklers are ideal – they water automatically and evenly. Rely on modern solutions and enjoy a well-maintained garden with minimal effort.
Why automatic garden irrigation makes sense
Lush greenery and a bountiful harvest are no accident, but the result of a consistent water supply. An automatic garden irrigation system takes the hard work of using a watering can off your hands. Our PE pipes, along with fittings and drip hoses, are true water wizards that provide optimal care for everything from flower beds and lawns to fruit trees.
The system is based on a network of hoses and pop-up sprinklers that operate using spray and drip functions. This makes your garden irrigation sustainable, as the water reaches the roots directly and evaporation losses are minimised.
Planning and installing garden irrigation: step by step to your goal
Before you start digging, careful preparation is crucial. When planning your garden irrigation, you should go through the following stages:
1. The master plan
Measure your garden and the paths the pipes will follow. Bear in mind bends and junctions, for which you will need suitable fittings. Plan for pop-up sprinklers and drip hoses at the appropriate points in your garden irrigation system.
2. The dress rehearsal
Before you dig up the ground, lay out all the parts above ground as a test. This allows you to check whether the garden irrigation system fits seamlessly.
- Tip: Carry out a wet test run to adjust the pressure, spray direction and range of the sprinklers directly.
- Cut the hoses to size and tape the open ends for the time being to prevent dirt from getting in.
3. Installation (above or below ground)
In principle, PE pipes can be laid above ground, which is often sufficient in raised beds or greenhouses. However, for smart garden irrigation on lawns, we recommend underground installation:
- Excavation: Cut out the existing turf in a V-shape (approx. 20 cm deep).
- Networking: Connect the pipes in the trenches. A drainage valve at the lowest point (on a gravel bed) protects against frost damage.
- Safety: Pop-up sprinklers must be flush with the ground so that they do not become a tripping hazard when mowing the lawn or playing.
4. Finishing off
Once testing is successful, fill in the trenches. Pro tip: Take a photo of the pipe layout before backfilling. That way, you’ll still know exactly where your garden irrigation system runs, even years later.
Smart garden irrigation for a better quality of life
Once everything is installed, it’s time to sit back and relax! A smart garden irrigation system can be easily automated, so you can safely leave the watering can in the shed. Your plants are well looked after whilst you enjoy your free time.
